From Schools, to Music Colleges & Universities

As a dedicated drum teacher with a passion for music education, I have spent the past two decades honing my craft and inspiring young musicians at various institutions across London.

As a licensed teacher at BYMT (Bromley Youth Music Trust) my journey began at Bickley Park School in Bromley, where I’ve had the privilege of teaching drums for twenty fulfilling years, and counting! At Bickley Park, I foster a nurturing environment where the young students not only learn technical skills, but work through the grade exam syllabus each term.

I extended my reach to Kidbrooke Park School in 2010, where I continued to share my expeirnce with aspiring drummers. It was immensely gratifying to witness the growth and progress of my students as they embraced the challenges of the instrument. Their dedication and enthusiasm fueled my own passion for teaching, reinforcing my belief in the transformative power of music education.

Further Education

Transitioning to higher education, I found a new home at City & Islington College 6th Form, where I mentored aspiring musicians on their journey towards professional excellence. Here, I encountered students from diverse backgrounds and skill levels, each bringing their unique perspective to the drumming studio. I took great pride in guiding them through technical challenges and nurturing their creativity, witnessing firsthand the profound impact music education can have on personal growth and development.

As my career evolved, I seized the opportunity to impart my knowledge and experience to the next generation of musicians at City & Islington University in London. In this dynamic academic environment, I embraced innovative teaching methods and collaborative learning opportunities to inspire my students to reach new heights in their musical pursuits, whilst holding classes of up to 12 pupils. Witnessing their achievements both inside and outside the classroom filled me with immense pride and reinforced my commitment to empowering young musicians to realize their full potential.

Reflecting on my journey as a drum teacher, I am deeply proud of the accomplishments of my pupils over the years. Whether performing on stage, composing original music, or pursuing further studies in music, they continue to inspire me with their talent, dedication, and passion for drumming. As I look to the future, I remain committed to nurturing the next generation of musicians and fostering a lifelong love of music in all those I teach.
